PHARMATECH KAZAKHSTAN 2026 — THE KEY PLATFORM OF A NEW PHARMACEUTICAL ERA
THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY OF KAZAKHSTAN IS ENTERING A PERIOD OF MASSIVE TRANSFORMATIONS.
The year 2025 was a turning point for the market: changes in tax policy, adjustment of pricing mechanisms, accelerated localization of international manufacturers, and the launch of new production capacities are radically changing the rules of the game. In these conditions, businesses need new technological solutions, sustainable development models, and professional dialogue within the industry.
PharmaTECH Kazakhstan 2026 will become such a platform — an international exhibition of equipment, raw materials, and technologies for the pharmaceutical industry. From May 20 to 22, 2026, leading Kazakhstani and foreign companies engaged in the pharmaceutical and related industries will gather in the pavilions of the Atakent Exhibition Center, Almaty. The exhibition will become an important driver for the implementation of innovations, attracting investments, and supporting the development of Kazakhstan's pharmaceutical sector, which is currently showing confident growth.
Pharmaceutical market of Kazakhstan: changes and new challenges
According to official industry statistics from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the pharmaceutical market of Kazakhstan shows steady growth while undergoing a stage of deep transformation.
The market continues to grow in monetary terms, despite a reduction in volume in physical terms. This indicates structural changes: an increase in the cost of medicines, a shift in demand towards more technologically advanced drugs, as well as increased requirements for quality and production standards.
One of the key priorities of state policy remains the development of local pharmaceutical production. The volume of domestic drug production is consistently increasing in the country, the list of drugs produced within Kazakhstan is expanding, and existing production capacities are being modernized. At the same time, the market still maintains a high dependence on imports, which heightens the relevance of import substitution tasks, technology transfer, and attracting international partners.
The year 2025 was a turning point for the industry. The introduction of a 5% VAT, changes in the price regulation system, enhanced digital control and labeling, as well as active localization of production by international pharmaceutical companies are forming a new competitive environment. In these conditions, the pharmaceutical business needs to adapt to new economic realities, revise financial models, implement modern equipment, increase the technological level of production, and seek growth points today.
The role of PharmaTECH Kazakhstan in industry development
Amid industry transformations, professional dialogue within the industry gains particular significance. The pharmaceutical market needs a platform where practical solutions, investment strategies, and directions for further development are discussed and demonstrated.
PharmaTECH Kazakhstan 2026 fulfills this role. The exhibition becomes not just a demonstration of equipment and technologies, but a strategic tool for industry development, promoting technological renewal, localization of production, and strengthening Kazakhstan's position as a pharmaceutical hub of Central Asia.
Following the previous year, the exhibition confirmed its high professional status: the event was attended by 4,970 professionals from 50 countries worldwide, and the business program included 26 industry events with 81 speakers.
These figures demonstrate the high market interest and practical value of the exhibition for all participants in the pharmaceutical chain.
PharmaTECH Kazakhstan 2026 is a space for key solutions and international cooperation.
To date, participation in the exhibition has been confirmed by companies from Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, UAE, Pakistan, Turkey, Belgium. National pavilions will be presented by Belarus, India, Russia, and Uzbekistan.
The year 2026 will mark the beginning of a new stage in the development of Kazakhstan's pharmaceutical industry. It is at the PharmaTECH Kazakhstan platform that strategies for adapting to new conditions, investment opportunities, and technological solutions for sustainable growth will be discussed.
The focus will be on topics such as:
financial sustainability of pharmaceutical enterprises under new tax burdens;
modern production equipment and technologies meeting the requirements of international pharmaceutical companies;
digitalization, artificial intelligence, and labeling as tools for control, analytics, and increasing market transparency.
PharmaTECH Kazakhstan 2026 will be a place of concentration of expertise, business contacts, and practical solutions — a platform where the future of Kazakhstan's pharmaceutical industry is shaped.
The event is officially supported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Almaty city, the Public Health Department of Almaty city, LLP "SK-Pharmacy", the Association for the Support and Development of Pharmaceutical Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association "PharmMedIndustry of Kazakhstan".
